New framing, a full laundry room addition, and a finished interior that looks and lives like new construction.
This investment property in Crows Landing, California needed far more than cosmetic updates. The home was stripped to the framing and rebuilt from the inside out. CCR performed a complete interior remodel covering every room in the house, while simultaneously constructing a brand-new laundry room addition from a poured concrete foundation up. New framing, electrical, plumbing, insulation, drywall, cabinets, stone countertops, LVT flooring, and exterior Hardie Plank siding were all part of the scope. The result is a home that functions and presents like new construction.

The homeowner had owned this Crows Landing investment property for some time and had previously worked with CCR on a neighboring house on the same road. Having seen what CCR delivered on that project, the decision to bring them back for this one was straightforward. The home needed far more than surface updates. A complete remodel was the only path to bringing it up to the standard of the finished property next door. CCR got to work.

Beyond the interior, the property had a long-standing problem: no functional laundry room. The existing laundry area had deteriorated to the point where a new addition was the only viable path forward. That meant digging a new foundation, pouring concrete, framing new walls, running new electrical and plumbing, and finishing the addition with HardiePlank siding to match the home's exterior. It was the single largest individual scope item on the project and one of the most visible transformations when finished.

When CCR arrived on site, the home was intact but showing its age, outdated throughout and in need of a full systems overhaul. Before photos weren't captured at the outset of the project, so the earliest images on file show the home mid-demo, once walls were already open and flooring had been removed. What those images reflect is the scope CCR uncovered once work began: wiring that required full replacement, plumbing that needed to be rerun in the walls, and a laundry area beyond repair. Rather than patch around problems, the scope was written to address everything at once, new framing, new systems, and a new laundry room built from a poured foundation up.
Our Remodel Planning Guide covers what to consider before starting a project like this one.

This Crows Landing remodel required CCR to sequence a wide range of trades across a home that was essentially an empty shell and to do it while simultaneously constructing a brand-new laundry room addition from the ground up. Every system in the house was touched: framing, concrete foundation work, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, drywall, tile, cabinetry, stone, flooring, paint, and exterior siding. The process demanded careful coordination so that rough work in one area didn't block finish work in another and so the new addition tied seamlessly into the existing structure by the time the final coat of paint was applied.

With walls open throughout the home, CCR sequenced the mechanical trades efficiently. The electrical was fully rewired new circuits, new plugs and switches throughout, a rewired kitchen area, and a completely new electrical layout in the laundry addition including a new sub-panel. Plumbing was rough-in and trimmed out for all fixtures, with new supply and drain lines run in the walls as needed. The HVAC technician inspected and tested the existing unit, relocating lines as needed to accommodate the new layout. All rough-in work was inspected and signed off before insulation and drywall proceeded.

Once rough-in was complete, insulation was installed throughout the home and packed fully into the new laundry addition walls and floor cavity. New drywall was hung in the addition, and patching and floating were completed in all areas of the main house that required it. On the exterior, HardiePlank cement board siding was installed on the laundry addition walls, with 2x4 corner and window trim installed around all openings to match the home's existing profile. Exterior paint was applied to the new siding to bring the addition into a consistent finish with the rest of the structure.

The interior finish phase brought every room to completion. New kitchen cabinets were installed and topped with stone countertops; the bathrooms received stone shower surrounds and new fixtures throughout. LVT flooring was installed in every room of the house, paired with new base and door trim and quarter-round throughout. Interior walls received a full coat of PVA primer followed by finish paint in every room. New mini blinds were installed at all windows, doors were hung, and all fixtures, mirrors, toilet accessories, and lighting were installed and trimmed out. The addition received the same level of finish as every other room in the house.

This Crows Landing whole-house remodel required CCR to build a new structure within an existing one constructing a full laundry room addition from a poured foundation while simultaneously rebuilding every system and finish surface inside the home, all coordinated as a single continuous project.

The finished home looks and functions like new construction. The bathrooms are clean and complete, dark cabinetry, stone surrounds, new fixtures, and wood-look LVT underfoot. The kitchen has a full set of new cabinets and stone countertops, with a new range and hood in place. Every bedroom has fresh paint, new flooring, and natural light through updated windows. Outside, the laundry room addition is fully sided, painted, and trimmed, indistinguishable in character from the original structure. This was the second project CCR completed for this client on the same road, and the results speak to why the relationship keeps going.
